MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, God in His infinite wisdom has called Dr. Catherine M. Wells to her eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Catherine M. Wells, devoted principal for the past 38 years of Famsworth Elementary School on Chicago's northwest side, was an active and vital member of her community. The beloved daughter of the late Irene and the late Frank Wells; loving sister of Marie (the late Joseph) Sloyan; dear aunt of Catherine (Michael) Quealy, Joseph (Peggy) Sloyan, William (Peggy) Sloyan and Robert (Doreen) Sloyan; great-aunt of Sean, Kevin, Tim (Anne), Shannon, Patrick, Dan, Anna and Emily Quealy, Charlie, Joe, Jack and Bobby Sloyan, Dr. Catherine M. Wells leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Catherine M. Wells will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this thirteenth day of April, 2011, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Dr. Catherine M. Wells and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Dr. Catherine M. Wells.
