WHEREAS, James M. McCarthy has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, James M. McCarthy, Vietnam Army Veteran; Beloved husband of Karen nee Baumgart; loving father of Kaitlyn (Craig) McCarthy and Matthew (Stacey) Ingersol; devoted son of the late John and the late Bertha; dear brother of John McCarthy Jr., Charlene (Rich) Green, Paul (Lori) McCarthy, the late Marlene (Jack) Hillock, the late Tommy McCarthy, the late Kathleen McCarthy and the late Michael McCarthy; fond uncle to many nieces and nephews; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared James M. McCarthy to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twelfth day of December 2018, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of James M. McCarthy and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and


BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James M. McCarthy.
