RESOLUTION CELEBRATING THE PASTORAL INSTALLATION OF REVEREND DANIEL E. JONES
WHEREAS, Reverend Daniel E. Jones was recently installed as the new Senior Pastor of the Original Providence Baptist Church of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this occasion by the Honorable Emma Mitts, Alderman of the 37th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Daniel E. Jones, affectionately known as Danny, was born on December 12,1986 - the second of four children born to Johnna Jones - and was raised on the West and South Sides of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Always considered a peculiar child, it is said that Rev. Jones preached his first sermon out of the window of his childhood apartment at the age of seven months old; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Jones accepted Christ and was baptized at the age of seven years old, and received and accepted his call to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ at the age of 12, under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Arthur D. Griffin, Sr. of the First Baptist Congregational Church of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Jones officially received his license to preach in January 2000 and was later ordained through another ministry in June 2015; and
WHEREAS, Under the tutelage of Dr. Griffin and his current Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. George W. Daniels, Rev. Jones was blessed to serve in an array of capacities such as one of the two Assistant Pastors, Children's Church Pastor, and the Youth Pastor of the First Baptist Congregational Church, in addition to serving as the Youth Director of the North Woodriver Baptist District Association and the Illinois Missionary Baptist State Convention under the leadership of the late Pastor Ricky T. Guyton and President Sidney Davis; and
WHEREAS, Rev.
