RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable William A. "Bill" Crawford has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 79; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable William A. "Bill" Crawford was a widely admired Indiana lawmaker and the loving husband of Bernice; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable William A. "Bill" Crawford was the much-adored father of Michael, Darren, Monica, Kimberly and Lavanta, the grandfather of eleven and the great-grandfather of seven to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, A Democrat from Indianapolis, the Honorable William A. "Bill" Crawford retired from the Indiana House of Representatives in 2012 following 40 years in office; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable William A. "Bill" Crawford earned a reputation as a champion for the poor and disadvantaged; and
WHEREAS, During his highly distinguished tenure, the Honorable William A. "Bill" Crawford fought for affordable housing and co-sponsored a law making it easier for those with criminal records to find employment; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable William A. "Bill" Crawford served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean War; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable William A. "Bill" Crawford serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared the Honorable William A. "Bill" Crawford to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable William A. "Bill" Crawford was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
