At the request of the Commissioner ofBusiness Affairs and Consumer Protection, I transmit herewith an ordinance authorizing issuance of various temporary relief measures to businesses.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:



ARTICLE I. LICENSE EXTENSION

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any provision ofthe Municipal Code of Chicago ("Code") to the contrary, any City-issued license required under Title 4 or Title 9 of the Code, which expired on or after March 15, 2020, through and including June 15, 2021, shall be considered active, whether or not renewed by the license or permit holder, until July 15, 2021. Licenses that needed to be renewed during that period and not renewed shall be considered expired after July 15, 2021.
This Section does not change the fee for renewal nor have the effect of prorating any fees paid for renewal of a license or permit, nor of changing the renewal date.
The Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection shall not charge a late fee for tardy renewal of any City-issued license required under Title 4 or Title 9 of the Code until January 1, 2022.




ARTICLE II. EXTENSION OF SO2020-2891

SECTION 1. On June 17, 2020, the City Council of the City of Chicago passed an ordinance, referenced as SO2020-2891, published on pages 17912 through 17915 ofthe1 Journal of Proceedings of the City Council for that date ("Ordinance"). Section (1 )(b) of Article III of the Ordinance, which appears on page 17915 of that Journal, is hereby amended by deleting the'language stricken and by inserting the language underlined as follows:
