City Council January 27th, 2021
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, David G Mata has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, David (Dave) G Mata- better known as "Mata"; Dave was a dedicated father to his four children Rebecca, David, Jaclyn, and Edward, whom he shared with Lisa Considine, A devoted fianc6 to Lisa Jett and a loving brother to Mario, Paul, and Yolanda.
WHEREAS, Dave's favorite hobbies were taking pictures, going to White Sox games, traveling, golfing, and cracking jokes; More times than not, you wouldn't catch Dave without his trademark stogie and infamous beer; Although Dave was an exceptional businessman, he was notorious for his photography, that captured precious moments documenting his life with loved ones; and
WHEREAS, Dave had a tough exterior, but underneath it all, he was the goofiest man you would ever meet; He didn't always have the right words but made up for it through his iconic gestures; If he invited you to a White Sox game, that meant he enjoyed your company. If he gave you a nickname, that was an indication of his affection for you; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Dave to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this twenty seventh of January 2021, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of David G Mata and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of David G Mata.
