RESOLUTION HONORING DEANE BETH BROWN UPON HER INSTALLATION AS PRESIDENT OF THE WOMEN'S BAR ASSOCIATION
WHEREAS, The Women's Bar Association of Illinois has been advocating for the advancement of women and women attorneys for nearly a century; and
WHEREAS, The Women's Bar Association of Illinois seeks to ensure the success of women attorneys through business and professional development and to advocate for women's interests. It offers substantive law committees, important networking events, and a critical judicial evaluation program; and
WHEREAS, The Women's Bar Association of Illinois will install its incoming officers and directors at its 97th Annual Dinner on June 9, 2011. Deane Beth Brown, a partner with the Law Firm of Beermann Swerdlove LLP, will be installed as President during this auspicious event.
WHEREAS, Deane Beth Brown's law practice focuses on employment law, commercial litigation and professional responsibility and whereas, Deane Brown has been amend by her peers to the list of Top 50 women Lawyers in Illinois in the 2010 and 2009 issues of Illinois Super Lawyers Magazine, published by Law and Politics in conjunction with Chicago Magazine, and whereas, she is listed in the Top 100 Leading Women Lawyers in Illinois as well as the Top 100 Leading women Business Lawyers in Illinois and whereas since 2010, she has been included in The Best Lawyers in America in the specialty of Ethics and Professional Responsibility Law.
WHEREAS, the theme of Ms. Brown's Presidency will be "Promoting Women Leaders in the Legal Community," and whereas, the focus of the Women's Bar Association's programming for the upcoming bar year will be on networking, rainmaking and leadership skills development, all of which are critical to the advancement and retention of women in the legal profession.
WHEREAS, The Honorable Robert W. Fioretti, Alderman of the 2nd Ward, has apprised this august body of this significant and noteworthy milestone for Deane Beth Brown and the Women's Bar ...
