Resolution

Whereas, Lorenzo Dimitrius Douglas departed this present life on July 5, 2016; and

Whereas, The City Council has been notified of his passing by The Honorable Harry Osterman, Alderman of the 48^th Ward; and

Whereas, Lorenzo Douglas was born on March 20, 1973, and attended Stewart and Clinton Elementary Schools and Mather High School in Chicago, and Grambling State University in Louisiana; and

Whereas, He spent many years teaching at the Jewish Child and Family Services Therapeutic Day School before answering the call of duty and becoming a Chicago firefighter in 2012; and

Whereas, Lorenzo Douglas is survived by his dear mother, Lorene; father, Calsie; brother, William; and sister, Anita; and

Whereas, He also leaves behind his loving daughter, Amira, and fiancee, Khadija, and many other devoted family members and friends. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this day of July 20, 2016, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Lorenzo Dimitrius Douglas and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be it further resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented in his memory to his family.
