City Council June 17th, 2020
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Ann H. Gauden has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God to her eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Ann H. Gauden, nee Tarasiewicz, beloved wife ofthe late Walter, was the loving mother of Maryann and Carol; dear godmother and aunt of Helen Gerlowski; fond sister of the late Casey, late Roman, and late Antoinette "Toni" (late Steve) Szafranski; aunt and friend of many; and
WHEREAS, Ann had just celebrated her 101st birthday in April! She loved animals, working jigsaw puzzles and word searches; Ann was the Matriarch of her family, who always placed family first, and loved her fur babies; and
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Ann to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this seventeenth of June 2020, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Ann H. Gauden and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ann H. Gauden.
