MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of George Kurinsky, on March 10, 2015, at the age of eighty-four; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on December 12,1930, this lifelong resident of Chicago, was the beloved husband of Ann, nee Szelesta; loving father of Michael (Heidi Merkle) and Kathryn; cherished grandfather of Chloe; dear brother of Mildred (the late Frank) Chomko and the late Ethel (the late Art) Gernhofer; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. George leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, George, who had served in the United States Marine Corps, was an active and vital member of his community who touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity, heart and spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago, gathered here this fifteenth day of April, 2015, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of George Kurinsky and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
