The City Council of the City of Chicago, Illinois Presented by Alderman Emma Mitts on August 14. 2013

WHEREAS, The members of this City Council Chamber are honored to learn of the upcoming fiftieth (50th> wedding anniversary, of the Elder Woodrow Hinton, an outstanding minister, community leader and who along with his. beloved wife Esther are long-time residents of the Austin community in Chicago, by 37* Ward Alderman Emma Mitts. In a few days, they will be joyously celebrating many years of dedicated marriage, as strong Christians and 'A husband and Wife of Monumental Faith' - - both of whom humbly wear their crowns of righteousness in the service of GOD. each other and man; and

WHEREAS, Elder Woodrow and Mrs. Esther Lee Hinton and family settled on Chicago's west side, and have lived at 1448 North Lotus Avenue in the 37* Ward for many years; and

WHEREAS, Elder Woodrow Hinton entered this world on November 7,1939 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to Mr. Brooks and Mrs. Tenner Hinton. His parents had eleven (11) children, six of whom are still living. Elder Woodrow's deceased siblings include Mrs. Cassie Coleman. Susie, Mrs. Cieo Stewart, Mr. RoyChester Hinton, and Mr. Steve Hinton. His living siblings: Mrs. Leo Thomas, Mrs. Christine Stiffic, Mr. John Henry Hinton, Mrs. Martha Thomas, Mrs. Ollie Mae Feiders; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Esther Lee Hinton was born into existence on March 14,1940 Trenton, Tennessee. Her devoted parents, Louts & Lovie Word had 8 children, 3 of whom are still living * - Mrs. Bobbie Jean Williams, Ms. Mary Word and Mrs. Hinton. Further, Mrs. Hinton's deceased siblings include sisters Mrs. Lurlie Mae McTizic, Mrs. verlene Elder, and brothers Mr. Joseph Word and Mr. Franklin Word; and

WHEREAS, Elder Woodrow Hinton and Mrs. Esther Hinton met at a church service in 1962 at New Testament Church of God in Christ, 1411 S. Halsted Chicago, Illinois. They immediately enjoyed an understanding...
