MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
 
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of William "Willi" A. Beil of Elgin, Illinois, on April 1, 2014, at the age of eighty-one; and
 
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39th Ward; and
 
WHEREAS, Born on January 25,1933, Willi was the beloved husband of Eleanor (nee Kuehling); loving father of Carl (Beth), Carolyn (Gene) Floss and Heidi (John) Hedl; cherished grandfather of Jenna (Frank) Floss, William, Lucas, Teriann, Lindsey, Carly, John and Taylor; proud great grandfather of Sophie Grace; dear brother of Carl (Rosemary) and Eleanor (Bob) Herkert. Willi leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
 
WHEREAS, Willi was the owner of Beil's Bakery of Chicago for fifty-five years, in addition to being a former member of the German-American Singers of Chicago. He was an active and vital member of his community, who touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity, heart and spirit. Willi will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
 
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this thirtieth day of April, 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of William "Willi" A. Beil and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
 
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William "Willi" A. Beil.
