RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, John F. Neary has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 83; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, John F. Neary was the loving and devoted husband of Peggy, nee Buckley; and
WHEREAS, John F. Neary was the much-adored father of Thomas and Sharon to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, John F. Neary was the dear brother of Nancy, Judy, Mike, Peter and the late Mary; and
WHEREAS, John F. Neary bravely served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War; and
WHEREAS, John F. Neary enjoyed a long and illustrious career as a member of the Chicago Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his tenure, John F. Neary upheld the finest and most noble traditions of the law enforcement community; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of John F. Neary serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Xxx to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, John F. Neary imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this fourteenth day of December, 2016, do hereby commemorate John F. Neary for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
