City Council October 7th, 2020
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Edward F. Howard, Jr has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 70 to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11 th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Edward F. Howard Jr, Beloved father of Edward (Kerri) Howard, Deborah Howard, and Shelly Howard; cherished grandfather Erica, Kerrigan, Kia, and Jamison; great grandfather of Hudson and Myles; devoted son of the late Edward F. and Mary Wright Howard, Sr.; dearest brother of Andrea (late Paul) Thornton, Nancy (Jim "Putter") Hawes, Peggy (Bob) Aldape, MaryBeth (William) Demitro and the late Daniel Howard, CPD -KILD, Sheila (late Jim) Goodeve ,and Patricia (Mark) Linkowski; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; special godfather of Daniel Hawes; and
WHEREAS, Ed was a former longtime residentj born and raised, oh the South Side of Chicago-Canaryville ncighborhood;Ed served his country in the U.S. Army in Korca.during the Vietnam / Cold War, He loved Chicago sports and was a diehard Whit? Sox fan, He was also a proud supporter of many Veterans organizations; Ed was a great story teller arid loved to make people laugh, was quite creative and was a gifted artist;Member of Canaryville Veterans Association and William McKirtley Post 23, American Legion; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Edward to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore \ " .'
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this twenty second of July 2020, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Edward F. Howard, Jr and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy ofthis resolution be presented to the family of Edward F. Howard, Jr.
