COMMEMORA HON OF CHIC A GO NORTHWEST SIDE IRISH PARADE
Whereas, The Northwest Side Irish Parade is a Chicago Tradition in its twelfth year, and;
Whereas, The parade was begun in memory of Judith Cregan Murray, the wife of Dan Murray and mother of the five Murray children - Danny, MaryJo, Brian, Elizabeth, and Tommy, arid;
Whereas, The celebration of faith, family, and Irish heritage fosters a sense of community and togetherness throughout the Northwest Side, and;
Whereas, In addition, the NWSI recognize and honor our veterans and military families for their service, and;
Whereas, Since its founding, the parade has grown to rival its Southside counterpart, drawing thousands of spectators from across the Chicagoland area to gather on Northwest Highway in the 41st Ward,
Be it resolved, that we, the members Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, do hereby express our wholehearted support for the Northwest Side Irish Parade and celebrate its twelfth anniversary, and;
Be it further resolved, that a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the leadership of the Northwest Side Irish.
