MEMORIAL RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Helen S. Chapekis', born on December 17, 1929, was called by God to her eternal reward on June 29, 2011, at the age of 81; and

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39^th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Helen S. Chapekis, was an active and vital member of her community. The cherished and loving wife of Fred Chapekis; beloved mother of Anthony Fredrick (Kristina), and Michael (Denise) Chapekis; adoring grandmother of Michelle, Maria, Gabriel, and Alianna; precious sister of Marina (Nicholas) Chapekis, and Androniki DeMet; loving aunt of many nieces and nephews; and Godmother of many, Helen S. Chapekis leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and

WHEREAS, Helen S. Chapekis will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this sixth day of July 2011, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Helen S. Chapekis and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Helen S. Chapekis.
