City Council February 19th, 2020
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Wayne Schmidt has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 67 to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Wayne was a lifelong White Sox fan whose love for the team could only be described as eternally optimistic; A voracious reader, Wayne would devour any book in front of him; His passion for the written word lives on through his children and grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Wayne Schmidt, beloved husband of Terri nee Fontaine; loving father of Kurt (Jeanette) and Lisa; cherished grandfather of Attiana, Scarlett, Ashton, and Wyatt; devoted son of the late Harry and Rose; dear brother of Nancy, Lynn, and Laura; fond uncle to many nieces and nephews; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Wayne to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this nineteenth of February 2020, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Wayne Schmidt and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
