RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable Anne Wilier has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 93; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Anne Wilier was a former state legislator and the loving wife of the late Leonard; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Anne Wilier was the much-adored mother of Noreen, Chuck, Barbara, Steve and Peggy, the grandmother of nine and the great-grandmother of seven to whom she imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that she possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, A former longtime resident of Hillside, the Honorable Anne Wilier served from 1974 to 1980 as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives from the western suburbs; and
WHEREAS, During her tenure, the Honorable Anne Wilier fought for civil rights for women, championed reforms in the women's prison system, and advocated for issues that protected children; and
WHEREAS, In 1976 the Independent Voters of Illinois named the Honorable Anne Wilier Best Legislator of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Born in Chicago, the Honorable Anne Wilier was raised in Brookfield, graduated from Trinity High School in River Forest and completed studies at the DePaul Secretarial School; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Anne Wilier moved with her husband to Portland, Oregon in 1986 where she was a member of the Portland League of Women Voters; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of the Honorable Anne Wilier serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Anne Wilier was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To her beloved family, the Honorable Anne Wilier imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
