City Council July 21, 2021
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, On July 24, 2021 Birdie B. Kaiser will be celebrating her 100th birthday at New Philadelphia Baptist Church with family and friends; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this joyous occasion by the Honorable Pat Dowell, Alderman ofthe 3rd Ward; and
WHEREAS, On July 21, 1921, Will Henry Long and Effie Carithers welcomed the birth of their daughter, Birdie Blanche Long; and
WHEREAS, Born and baptized in Comer, Georgia before moving to Chicago, Birdie has long been a devoted Baptist; and
WHEREAS, Birdie survived her late husband Rotell Fleming, and is the proud mother of Jerome and Virgial Fleming; and
WHEREAS, Birdie joined New Philadelphia Church Baptist in 1947, where she has continued her religious devotion to this day; and
WHEREAS, Birdie remarried and changed her name to Mrs. Birdie B. Kaiser; she is the proud grandmother to 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 19 great-great grandchildren; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this twenty-first day of July, 2021, do hereby offer our heartiest best wishes for a happy birthday to Birdie B. Kaiser; and
