MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Michael G. Doody, on June 28, 2014, at the age of fifty-one; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Michael was born on October 12,1962, in Evanston, IL, to proud parents Edwin and Flora (Morelli) Doody; and
WHEREAS, Michael graduated from Sacred Heart-Hardy Preparatory for Boys Elementary School, Loyola Academy-Jesuit Preparatory College and Drake University; and
WHEREAS, He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity at Drake that was based on three principle objectives: The cultivation of friendship among its members; the acquirement individually of a high degree of mental culture; and the attainment personally of a high standard of morality. This truly described Michael and he will be remembered as a kind and giving person; and
WHEREAS, Marketing and technology were natural talents for Mike. He was able to flourish with his abilities as President of Page Arts Internet Marketing. Along with the passion he had for business, Michael was also a dog lover and a devoted Chicago White Sox fan; and
WHEREAS, Michael will be deeply missed by his parents, Ed and Flora; his brother Patrick (Jacqueline) Doody; his nephew, Jack; his aunt and uncle: Jim and Liz O'Shea; his aunt Louise Beuder; along with many cousins and friends, but the memory of his character, intelligence and kind nature will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this thirtieth day of July, 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Michael G. Doody and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael G. Doody.
