RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Victor J. Cacciatore, Sr., has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of eighty-three; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A resident of River Forest, Victor J. Cacciatore, Sr., was a prominent business magnate and the loving and devoted husband for fifty-seven years of Charlotte, nee Kwasigroch; and
WHEREAS, Victor J. Cacciatore, Sr., was the much-adored father of Victor II, Joseph, Peter, Cynthia Bickel, Mary Beth, Gloria Turan, Christopher, Susan Lasek, Philip and Daniel, the grandfather of twenty-one and the great-grandfather four to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Born and raised in Bridgeport, Victor J. Cacciatore, Sr., was the son of the late Joseph and Gloria; and
WHEREAS, Victor J. Cacciatore, Sr., attended Mount Carmel High School and worked his way through DePaul University where he earned both his undergraduate and law degrees; and
WHEREAS, From 1956 to 1958 Victor J. Cacciatore, Sr., served his country in the United States Army as a Counterintelligence Corps Special Agent in France; and
WHEREAS, Victor J. Cacciatore, Sr., married his high school sweetheart and eventually took over his Sicilian immigrant father's real estate company where he had worked since he was a teenager; and
WHEREAS, Victor J. Cacciatore, Sr., expanded the family business and built a sprawling financial empire that included real estate, law, insurance, banking, parking and street sweeping; and
WHEREAS, The philanthropy of Victor J. Cacciatore, Sr., resulted in the construction of Cacciatore Stadium at DePaul University in Lincoln Park and endowments to the university's law school; and
WHEREAS, The entrepreneurial spirit and generosity of Victor J. Cacciatore, Sr., serve as an example to all; and
