RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The twenty second annual Korean Street Festival is being hosted by the Chicago Korean American Chamber of Commerce on August 12 and 13, 2017; and
WHEREAS, the City of Chicago has been informed of this special occasion by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Created to promote local Korean businesses by presenting diverse traditional and contemporary events, this year's festival is expected to draw thousands of people to Bryn Mawr Avenue between Kedzie and Kimball Avenues to enjoy the celebration of Korean culture; and
WHEREAS, the Korean Street Festival provides an opportunity for visitors to experience all that Korea has to offer in our city, including great Korean food, music, and traditional dancing. The Festival is an exploration of the rich Korean culture and heritage which has become one of our community's most anticipated and exciting neighborhood events; and
WHEREAS, The long history of Chicago as a city of immigrants, embracing the cultural celebrations that express the vibrant nature of our great city, makes the leaders ofthe great City of Chicago very proud; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty eighth day of June 2017, do hereby extend our warmest greetings and best wishes for the success of the Annual Korean Street Festival; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the Chicago Korean American Chamber of Commerce.
