MEMORIAL RESOLUTION HONORING PASTOR ROBERT LEE HENDERSON, SR.
WHEREAS, In His infinite wisdom, God has called His good and faithful servant, Pastor Robert Lee Henderson, Sr. to his eternal reward on Thursday, April 25, 2013;and
WHEREAS, Pastor Robert Lee Henderson, Sr., a kind and gentle man will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those whose life he touched in countless ways; and
WHEREAS, This august body has been informed of Pastor Robert Lee Henderson Sr.'s passing by the Honorable Anthony Beale, Alderman of the 9th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Henderson did indeed touch the lives of many, and will always remembered by his family, friends and extended family members. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Loretta; loving father to two sons, Robert Jr. and Patrick; caring brother to Pastor George (Linda), Pastor Johnny (Jerline), Henry, William Frank (Maxine) Henderson, Estella Shields, Lena (James) Sawyer, Martha Abraham and Dorothy (Price) Aldren; doting grandfather to five grandchildren, Sharlena, Deangelo, Hope, Malachi and Demetrius, uncle to a host of nieces and nephews, and the devoted Pastor to the members of The New Third Heaven Missionary Baptist Church. His parents, George and Rubystine Henderson, brothers, Augusta, Isaac and Charlie and sisters, Louise Thomas, Betty Hampton and Carrie Stokes preceded him in death; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this 26th day of June 2013 A.D., do hereby express our heartfelt sadness at the loss of such a vital spiritual leader as Pastor Henderson, Sr. and extend our most sincere sympathy to his family and friends.
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Pastor Robert Lee Henderson, Sr.
