SALUTE TO THE SILVER ANNIVERSARY OF THE
STREETERVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
WHEREAS, On March 13, 2014 at the Ritz-Carlton Chicago Hotel at 160 East Pearson Street, the Streeterville Chamber of Commerce will hold its 25th Annual Meeting & Dinner; and
WHEREAS, Since 1989, the Streeterville Chamber of Commerce has been dedicated to serving the business community in the Near North community of Streeterville, a neighborhood bounded by Oak Street Beach on the north, the Chicago River on the south, Lake Michigan on the east and Michigan Avenue on the west; and
WHEREAS, The Streeterville Chamber endeavors to assist their members in building their businesses by increasing business visibility and connecting members to the community through a variety of networking events and meetings. They strive to develop relationships between their members, as well as to strengthen its bonds with other non-profit organizations in the area, in an effort to promote coalition building and partnerships throughout its service district that includes two major hospitals, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern Memorial Hospital, historic landmarks such as the Old Water Tower & Pumping Station as well as Navy Pier and much of Chicago's premier shopping, dining and hotels along the Magnificent Mile; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Robert W. Fioretti, Alderman of the 2nd Ward, has apprised this august body of this iconic business organization's Silver Anniversary; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, gathered together on this 5th Day of March, 2014, do hereby salute the Streeterville Chamber of Commerce and its 25 years of dedication of service to developing and preserving one of the most vibrant destination districts in this city and extend our very best wishes for its continuing success for the next quarter century.
