ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. Section 2-8-080 of the Municipal Code of the City of Chicago is hereby deleted in its entirety and replaced by a new Section 2-8-080, as follows:
2-8-80 Reserved Quarterly Hearings regarding Chicago Transit Authority-fa) The Committee on Transportation and Public Way shall hold at least one hearing each Quarter regarding the service levels, operations and security of the Chicago Transit Authority fCTAV Officials from the CTA shall be available for testimony and the president of the CTA shall testify if requested bv the Chair of the Committee.
lb) No member of the City Council or other municipal officer shall introduce, and no Committee of the Citv Council shall consider or recommend, anv intergovernmental agreement with the CTA or other ordinance or order that disburses funds to the CTA in the succeeding guarter if the president and officials do not participate in anv scheduled hearing reguired bv subsection (a), unless disbursement of such funds is required bv State law.
SECTION 2. The Department of Law shall update all forms for intergovernmental agreements with Sister Agencies, as defined in Section 1-23-010 of the Code, to include a requirement that Sister Agency officials comply with requests to testify at City Council Committee hearings as a condition for disbursement of any applicable funds under such agreements, unless disbursement of such funds is required by State law.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon passage and approval.
