RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Mayor and members ofthe City Council of Chicago honor James Krok for his twenty-eight years of service to the Chicago Police Department; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this celebratory occasion by James A. Balcer, Alderman ofthe 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, James Krok hails from a family with a proud tradition of dedication to the Chicago law enforcement community, his father Chester Krok was also a member of the Chicago Police Department; and
WHEREAS, James is the son of late Chester & Florence Krok, brother of Alan and Susan, husband to Alicia, father of Katie, Karli, the late Kari Anne, Kris, Christian &Kevin; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of McKinley Park and proud graduate of St. Peter & Paul School and De La Salle Institute, James has continued to give back to his community by actively volunteering at Blessed Sacrament Parish; and
WHEREAS, James Krok, Star #8376, began his career with the Chicago Police Department on December 16, 1985; and
WHEREAS, During his career he served the citizens ofthe 001st, 009th, 010th and 019th Districts, he was assigned to Mayor Daley's residence from April 1992 to May of 2011 and Mayor Emanuel's residence from August of 2011 until his retirement on December 18, 2013;
and
WHEREAS, James Krok devoted twenty-eight years of his life in service to the people of the City of Chicago and in doing so has personally ensured that the City of Chicago remains the healthy and vibrant community it is today; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council assembled this twenty first day of January, 2015, do hereby express our gratitude and heartfelt appreciation to James Krok on the occasion of his retirement for the dedication, professionalism and personal sacrifice that he provided during his twenty-eight years of public service; and -
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to James
Krok.
