RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Julie Brady has gone to her eternal reward at the age of 51; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, A resident of St. Charles, Julie Brady was the loving wife of the Honorable Pat Brady, former Chairman of the Illinois Republican Party; and
WHEREAS, A woman of dignity, grace and charm, Julie Brady was the much-adored mother of Maeve, Kelly, Patrick and Grace; and
WHEREAS, Raised in Antigo, Wisconsin, Julie Brady graduated from the University of Wisconsin and joined the U.S. Justice Department's honors program; and
WHEREAS, Julie Brady met her future husband while they both worked as federal prosecutors in San Diego, California, assigned to the Tax and White Collar Task Force; and
WHEREAS, Julie Brady helped lead a grassroots effort to put Republican presidential candidate John McCain's name on the ballot in Illinois in 2008; and
WHEREAS, Despite her stature and influence, Julie Brady liked to shun the limelight and often worked behind the scenes in Illinois politics; and
WHEREAS, Julie Brady most recently served as Special Counsel for Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Julie Brady serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Julie Brady to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Julie Brady will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To her beloved family, Julie Brady imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this thirtieth day of April, 2014, do hereby commemorate Julie Brady for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
