MEMORIAL RESOLUTION'
WHEREAS, It was with great sadness that members of this chamber learned of the March 22, 2013 death of Pietro "Pete" Benincasa at the age of 83 ; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, The beloved husband ofthe late Emma J., nee Blevens for forty-nine years; loving father of Charles, Richard, Daniel, Teresa (Joseph) Beldsoe, Giovanni (the late Maria) and the late Penelope; dearest grandfather of Rachael, Keith and Matthew Benincasa, Joseph, Isabella, Peter and Gabriella Bledsoe, Caterina, Pietro, Martina and the late Charles Benincasa, Jr., Pete Benincasa leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, An active and vital member of his community, Pete was a friend to all and will be fondly remembered as a long time employee of Marie's Pizza; and
WHEREAS, Pete will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this eighth day of May 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Pietro "Pete" Benincasa and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
