SALUTE TO PASTOR JOHN E. JACKSON
 
 
WHEREAS, Elder John E. Jackson, along with the congregants of Revival Fellowship Church of God in Christ located on this city's West Side, celebrate 32 years of his ministry and pastoral leadership in dual services on Sunday April 14, 2013 as well as Sunday April 21, 2013; and
 
WHEREAS, In 1978, Pastor Jackson accepted the call into the ministry under Elder Oscar Bridges at the Prayer Mission Church of God in Christ where he served on the Deacon Board. In 1981, he was called to pastor and opened the Revival Fellowship Church of God in Christ in April of that year. In 1983, Pastor Jackson traveled to Jerusalem to be baptized in the River of Jordan and walk the same road as Jesus; and
 
WHEREAS, Pastor Jackson additionally serves the Church of God in Christ denomination as 1st Assistant Superintendent of the U.E. Miller/L.T. Buchanan District under the leadership of Pastor Van W. Wells. He is a member of the Bishop Executive Board for the Chicagoland's Ministerial Alliance, a member of the International Ministers & Community Alliance, Chairman of the 13th District Faith-Based CAPS program and serves as one of the spiritual advisors to 2nd Ward Alderman Bob Fioretti. He has received a multitude of awards and recognition for his outstanding ministry; and
 
WHEREAS, The Honorable Robert W. Fioretti, Alderman ofthe 2nd Ward, has apprised this august body ofthe significant milestone achieved by this praiseworthy spiritual leader; now therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, gathered together this 8th Day of May, 2013 AD, do hereby salute Elder John E. Jackson for his 32 years of noteworthy ministry and extend our very best wishes for continuing success in all he endeavors to achieve in the future.
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Elder John E. Jackson.
