RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Ulta Beauty, Inc. will have a grand opening for its 999th store at 430 North Michigan Avenue on June 23, 2017; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this occasion by the Honorable Andrea M. Valencia, City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, Since opening its first store 25 years ago, Ulta Beauty has become the largest beauty retailer in the United States and the premier beauty destination for cosmetics, fragrance, skin, hair care products and salon services; known for providing "All Things Beauty, All in One Place;" and
WHEREAS, Ulta Beauty, led by CEO, Mary Dillon, is recognized for its commitment to personalized service, fun and inviting stores and a service to their community; and
WHEREAS, This summer Ulta Beauty plans to partner with the Youth Guidance WOW (Working on Womanhood) program; and
WHEREAS, Youth Guidance offers an array of school-based programs that enable disadvantaged youth in Chicago to succeed in school and in life. Its innovative program, WOW, helps young girls from Chicago's toughest schools achieve personal and future career success. Today, WOW is a thriving school-based, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) counseling program working to improve the social-emotional competencies of young women in grades 7-12; and
WHEREAS, Ulta Beauty has proven to be true community partner through their continued growth in the Chicago area and its contributions to the citizens of Chicago through the Youth Guidance WOW program; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago, assembled this twenty-eighth day of June, 2017, do hereby congratulate Ulta Beauty on the opening of its new store and wish them the best in their partnership with Youth Guidance and
WOW.
