RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, Ride for AIDS Chicago is a yearly two-day, 200 mile bicycling fundraising event produced by TPAN (Test Positive Aware Network) in which 100% ofthe participant-generated money raised goes to providing services to people with HIV/AIDS; and,
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed ofthe prestigious event by the Honorable Ariel E. Reboyras, Alderman ofthe 30th Ward, Honorable Thomas Tunney, Alderman ofthe 44th Ward, Honorable Daniel S. Solis, Alderman of the 25th Ward, Honorable James Cappleman, Alderman ofthe 46th Ward, Honorable Deborah Mell, Alderman ofthe 33rd Ward, Honorable Brendan Reilly, Alderman ofthe 42nd Ward, Honorable Carlos Ramirez-Rosa, Alderman ofthe 35th Ward, Honorable Raymond A. Lopez, Alderman ofthe 15th Ward; and,
 
WHEREAS, Ride for AIDS Chicago and its community partners increase awareness about HIV/AIDS, raise much needed funds for HIV/AIDS services, and help diminish the stigma and shame associated with HIV/AIDS; and,
WHEREAS, In 2015, Ride for AIDS Chicago is celebrating its twelfth anniversary with more than 400 registered participants and hundreds of volunteers; and,
WHEREAS, Over its' twelve year history, Ride for AIDS Chicago has raised $3 million for HIV/AIDS services; and,
WHEREAS, Ride for AIDS Chicago will be held during the weekend of July 11 and 12, 2015; and,
 
WHEREAS, TPAN, the organization producing the Ride, has been serving the HIV/AIDS community in Chicago for more than 27 years; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this seventeenth day of June, 2015, salute Ride for AIDS Chicago 2015 participants and volunteers on their commitment in the fight against HIV/AIDS; and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be prepared and
