MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR SHIRLEY M. VOEGTLE
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Shirley M. Voegtle at the age of 89; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on May 13,1928, Shirley was the beloved wife of the late Mathew E. Voegtle Jr.; loving mother of Mark (Fran), Greg (Sophia), Douglas (Louise), Neil (Carlos) and Wayne; cherished grandmother of Nathan, Meredith, Abraham, Christian, Sean, Brandon, Jessica, Gregory and Grant; fond sister of Shiela (Elmer) Vernald, the late Donald (Patricia) and the late Ronald (Lina) Valliquette; dear aunt of many nieces and nephews and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Shirley leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Shirley was a member of St. Anne Sodality and a Den Mother of Cub Scout Troop #3904. Shirley touched the lives of all who knew her through her love and spirit. She will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and member of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty eighth day of March, 2018, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Shirley M. Voegtle and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
