CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO JERRY MYTYCH ON HIS RETIREMENT AS DIRECTOR OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS FOR AT&T ILLINOIS


WHEREAS, Jerry Mytych is retiring from AT&T Illinois, as Director of External Affairs;
and

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of this occasion by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and

WHEREAS, As Director of External Affairs his responsibilities included external relations and public affairs for western, southwestern and northern Cook County covering sixty-six municipalities and eight Chicago wards, in addition to serving on various boards of directors, including the Greater O'Hare Area Regional Business Association, consistently demonstrating that things get accomplished through strong working relationships; and
WHEREAS, Before joining AT&T in 2000, as Manager of Market Development for Illinois Power Company of Decatur, in Elk Grove Village, he was responsible for attracting industrial investment to Illinois Power's service territories in central, western and southwestern Illinois; and

WHEREAS, During a ten-year career with the State of Illinois, he was Senior Project Manager for Statewide Industrial Projects with the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs (DAAC). He also served as a Policy Analyst for the Honorable Lee A. Daniels; and

WHEREAS, Prior to working with the State of Illinois, Jerry held financial and managerial positions with Rockwell International's Graphic Systems Division, Intercraft Industries and the First National Bank of Chicago; and

WHEREAS, The father of three sons and proud grandfather of three, Jerry has distinguished himself in the music world, performing on numerous polka albums, as a clarinet and saxophone player for polka bands such as the renowned Eddie Blazonczyk's "Versatones" and Lenny Gomulka's "Chicago Push", going on to form his own band, "Chi-Town Express", in 1982; and
