MEMORIAL RESOLUTION CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF CLARA MAE SEATON
WHEREAS, Clara Mae Seaton, mother; grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend, entered into eternity on January 13, 2022; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of Clara Mae Seaton passing by the Honorable Emma Mitts, Alderman of the 37th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Clara was bdrri on March 29, 1932 to Eddie and Leola Seaton, and raised by her maternal grandmother Anna Taylor Harris, Aunts and Uncles in Terry Mississippi; and
WHEREAS, Clara growing up: excelled in math and spelling and her favorite pastime was reading; and
WHEREAS, Clara and the love of her life Elbert, met as children and joined in Holy Matrimony December 28, 1948, and to their union nine children were born; and
WHEREAS, Clara accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Wade Church, under the leadership of Reverend E. G. Robinson. After moving to Chicago, she was a member of Greater Mt. Zion MB Church, under Rev. J.W. Jackson, serving on the Usher Board, she served under Elder Jerome N. Scott jr. at Mt. Calvary COGIC and in 1985 Clara became a member and served faithfully at Solomon Temple COGIC as a member on the Mother Board and loved Sunday School; and
WHEREAS, Clara was a 51 year resident of the Austin community and employed by W. Hall Printing Company as a Supervisor, she was the first "Candy store Lady on the lotus block and was the neighborhood childcare provider and was known and loved as "Grandma or "Momma"; and i
WHEREAS, Clara memory will forever live pn through her Children, Patricia: Elbert Jr. (Vicki): Larry; Michael; Sharon (Martin Sr.); Dennis; Carmel and Karen "Lynn", 28 Grandchildren; 59 Great-Grandchildreh and 12 Great-Great Grandchildren; Sister in-love , Lela Thomas-Hunter; Sisters Lena Guyton (Calvin) Madison MS, Annie Jean Jackson (William) Joplin MO., Brother Alfred Seaton (Lana) of Raymond MS., Daughter in-law Vanessa Walters, nieces, nephews and a host of cousins, fam...
