RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Jayasudha Kapoor was born in a family of eminent scholars and literary historians in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu; and
WHEREAS, Jayasudha Kapoor is a distinguished woman leader in the state of Andhra Pradesh and a legendary actress in the south Indian film industry; and
WHEREAS, Jayasudha Kapoor was elected to serve as a Member of the Legislative Assembly, representing the Secunderabad constituency with the overwhelming love of the voters in 2001; and
WHEREAS, Jayasudha Kapoor acted in more than 300 movies spanning three decades and is widely acknowledged, acclaimed and applauded across many parts of the world; and
WHEREAS, Jayasudha Kapoor has been a torch bearer for the developmental programs in the state of Andhra Pradesh through her elected office and her social/charitable work; and
WHEREAS, Jayasudha Kapoor worked tirelessly: empowering women, setting up vocational programs and waging a battle against female-gender bias; and
WHEREAS, Jayasudha Kapoor won lauarels and awards for her outstanding acting prowess including six Filmfare Awards, five Nandi Awards and a slew of distinguished awards for her exemplary acting skills; and
WHEREAS, Jayasudha Kapoor pioneered Shrine Development Trust aimed at helping sick, poor and disenfranchised children; and
WHEREAS, Jayasudha Kapoor was conferred with an Honorary Doc^iStte ^ degree from Ambedkar University (India) in February 2009 and is mamSd ^
