Honoring the Life of Marilyn E. Guest

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Marilyn Guest, an outstanding citizen and member of her community;

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by Willie B. Cochran, Alderman of the 20"' Ward;

WHEREAS, Married to Ben Guest, Marilyn Guest will be forever remembered by her friends and family which includes: her devoted children, Benea, Estella, Marilyn, A 'niya, China Doll, Stella, Heaven, Anita, David and Elrico; her sisters. Tete San, Aunt Jerry and Aunt Shirley; her brother, Papa Leon; her brothers-in-law, Fred and Wesley; her close nieces, Layenette, Maelonia, Anna Wood and Anna Roberson; her close nephews Ben Edward, Speedy, Lemont, Wendell and John; her cousin, Frankie; and all her close friends;

WHEREAS, Marilyn E. Guest was born to the late Ada Mae and Elige Holloway;

WHEREAS, Marilyn was born and raised in Chicago, where she graduated from Lucy Flower Vocational High School, went on to become a successful Accountant, and executive administrator ofJP and HG Contracting and Real Estate;

WHEREAS, She proudly served as an Army Family Readiness Group member for nearly twelve years, working to provide support and foster a positive outlook. Her dedication to these soldiers and their families will be greatly missed;

WHEREAS, She was full of life, and enjoyed the arts, music, socializing, shopping, decorating and playing the lottery;

WHEREAS, Marilyn loved her family and her church above all. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very early age and she was a homemaker for more than twenty-five years. Marilyn worked hard to be a devoted wife, mother, aunt and grandmother;

WHEREAS, Everyone that knew her will miss her compassion and her wonderful spirit;
