MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Julian Abraham, on March 18, 2014, at the age of seventy-five; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on December 2, 1938, Julian was the beloved husband ofthe late Maureen; loving father of Michael, Noel, Mark (Tracy), Patrick (Jenny) Abraham; dear grandfather of Luke, Katie, Logan, Ella, Riley and Brody; dear brother of Pauline (Arthur) Tavardian, Madeline (David) Stefani and the late Ephraim, Jr. (May) Abraham; brother-in-law of Donald (Mary Ann) Henke, Barbara (the late Ronald) Reinhart and the late Grace (Paul) Hoffman; treasured uncle of many nieces and nephews of Chicago and Quincy, Illinois; friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Julian leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Julian graduated from St. George High School, was an Evans Scholar at Marquette University, received his Masters Degree in Social Work at Loyola University and became a Social Worker in the Loyola Medical Center Emergency Room where he worked for twenty years. He was also former Acting Director and Deputy Director of the Chicago Alcoholic Treatment Center. An active and vital member of his community, Julian touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity, heart and spirit; and
WHEREAS, Julian will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this thirtieth day of April, 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Julian Abraham and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Julian Abraham.
