RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Ramona Hahn has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of eighty-six; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, The matriarch of a prominent California political family/ Ramona Hahn was the loving and devoted wife of the late Kenneth; and
WHEREAS, Ramona Hahn was the much-adored mother of former Los Angeles Mayor James Hahn and the Honorable Janice Hahn, a longtime member of the Los Angeles City Council; and
WHEREAS, Ramona Hahn was the beloved grandmother of five and the great-grandmother of five; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of missionaries, Ramona Hahn was born in Japan where she lived until the age of eleven; and
WHEREAS, Ramona Hahn attended Pepperdine University, where she met her future husband who would go on to serve as Los Angeles County Supervisor; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong member of the Church of Christ, Ramona Hahn was a woman of deep and lasting faith; and
WHEREAS, A devoted matriarch, Ramona Hahn was the driving force behind her family; and

WHEREAS, Ramona Hahn will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her many relatives and friends; and
WHEREAS, To her beloved family, Ramona Hahn imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this twenty-eighth day of July, 2011, do hereby commemorate Ramona Hahn for her grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to her family; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ramona Hahn.
