WHEREAS, Jim and Joan Pellegrini celebrate their 50 Wedding anniversary on August 5, 2011; and
WHEREAS, the City of Chicago has been informed of this occasion by Alderman Matthew J. O'Shea; and
WHEREAS, Jim Pellegrini and Joan Nolan met on March 13, 1960 at the Saint Patrick's Day Parade where Joan was the Queen of the Parade and Jim was a spectator; and
WHEREAS, Jim is son of Jacob and Jean Pellegrini and Joan is daughter of Eugene and Marie Nolan; and
WHEREAS, Jim and Joan were married on August 5, 1961 at Little Flower Church and reception was held at Gleneagles Country Club; and
WHEREAS, Jim Pellegrini worked for the City of Chicago Water Department and Forestry Department for 44 years; and
WHEREAS, Jim and Joan moved into their home at 10355 South Trumbull in September of 1961 and still reside there today; and
WHEREAS, Jim and Joan raised five children Jim (Ann), John (Phaedra), Bill (Janet), Bob, and Dan (Kristie) and are the proud Grandparents of Amber, Sean, Kaila, Anna, Paige, Jacob, Eric, and Kara; and
WHEREAS, The Family of Jim and Joan Pellegrini would like to say thank you for all the sacrifices and unconditional love over the past 50 years of marriage, as there were many, also to say we love you and may God bless you and our family for the next 50 years; and
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Members of the Chicago City Council assembled the 6th day of July, 2011 do hereby congratulate and pay tribute to Jim and Joan Pellegrini on the occasion of her retirement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Jim and Joan Pellegrini.
