RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, William "Bill" Brinkley Jr. has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 80; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, William "Bill" Brinkley Jr. was the loving an devoted husband of Mary Ann; and
WHEREAS, A member of our "Greatest Generation," William "Bill" Brinkley Jr. was a former Vice President of the Tuskegee Airmen "DODO" Chapter and loved working with the Young Eagles Program that encouraged young people to become familiar with airplanes; and
WHEREAS, William "Bill" Brinkley Jr. retired from the federal government after 32 years of service in 1986; and
WHEREAS, William "Bill" Brinkley Jr. later worked for the State of Illinois Department of Employment Security; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his career, William "Bill" Brinkley Jr. upheld the finest and most noble traditions of public service; and
WHEREAS, William "Bill" Brinkley Jr. was a former reservist with the United State Air Force; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of William "Bill" Brinkley Jr. serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared William "Bill" Brinkley Jr. to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, William "Bill" Brinkley Jr. imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this fourteenth day of December, 2016, do hereby commemorate William "Bill" Brinkley Jr. for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
