RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, Thomas E. Mintle has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of seventy-nine; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
 
WHEREAS, Thomas E. Mintle was the loving husband of Frances, nee Duggan; and
 
WHEREAS, Thomas E. Mintle was the much-adored father of Theresa, Mary, Thomas M. and Michael and the much-adored grandfather of five to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
 
WHEREAS, Thomas E. Mintle ably served for thirty-three years as a member of the Chicago Fire Department and retired as an Engineer; and
 
WHEREAS, Throughout his long and illustrious career, Thomas E. Mintle upheld the finest and most noble traditions of public service; and
 
WHEREAS, Thomas E. Mintle was a valued member of the Brotherhood of the Barrel and the Gaelic Fire Brigade; and
 
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Thomas E. Mintle serve as an example to all; and
 
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Thomas E. Mintle to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
 
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Thomas E. Mintle imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this thirteenth day of February, 2013, do hereby commemorate Thomas E. Mintle for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
 
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Thomas E. Mintle.
