MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR TERESITO MERC ADO
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Teresito Mercado at the age of 85; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on July 30, 1932, Teresito was the beloved husband of Gloria (nee Roa); devoted father of Joselito, CPD (Monica) and Emmanuel (Carmelita); cherished grandfather of Mia and Tyler; loving brother and adored uncle to many. Teresito was a treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Teresito touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity and vivacious spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and member of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this seventeenth day of January, 2018, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Teresito Mercado and express to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Teresito Mercado as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
