MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Sister Joan Marie Kryszak, C.S.S.F. (formerly Sister Mechtildis) on March 7, 2016 at the age of ninety-five; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on February 2, 1921, Sister Joan Marie was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth; beloved stepdaughter of Angeline Kryszak; beloved sister of the late Helen (the late Edward Frass), the late Pearl (the late Edward Matuga), the late Frances (the late Philip Slachetka), the late Ted (the late Kay Markowski), the late Genevieve (the late Gordon Lodge) and the late Edward; dear aunt to many nieces and nephews and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Sister Joan Marie leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, As a beloved member of the Felician Sisters Community for seventy-six years, Sister Joan Marie was an active and vital member of her community; and
WHEREAS, Sister Joan Marie touched the lives of all who knew her through her energy, her kindness, her generosity, her heart and her spirit. She will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her, now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this sixteenth day of March, 2016, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Sister Joan Marie Kryszak, C.S.S.F. and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Sister Joan Marie Kryszak, C.S.S.F. as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
