Resolution Congratulating the Association House of Chicago
 
WHEREAS, The Association House, founded in 1899, has been changing lives of Chicagoans in need for over a century, providing programs that address both immediate needs as well as long-term, personal goals; and
 
WHEREAS, the Chicago City Council has been informed of this prestigious occasion by the Honorable Roberto Maldonado, Alderman of the 26th Ward; and
 
WHEREAS, Association House has met the challenges of a changing community, and although the demographics and needs of individuals have changed since 1899, the mission of Association House stays the same: helping the whole family by providing programs for social, educational, and health advancement; and
 
WHEREAS, serving more than 20,000 individuals and families each year under the management of dedicated staff members and a volunteer Board of Directors, staff volunteers have worked tirelessly for Chicago families, offering programs that help individuals enhance the quality of their own lives; and
 
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors proudly hosts their Faces of Hope Annual Benefit event on Saturday, May 9th at the Renaissance Blackstone Hotel, made possible by the generosity of hundreds of friends and volunteers, to provide ongoing support to the innovative and highly successful programs of Association House; now therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED that we, the mayor and members of the City Council of Chicago, gather here this 30th day of April, 2014, do hereby congratulate the Association House of Chicago on their Face of Hope Annual Benefit Gala and extend our sincerest gratitude and appreciation for their service to the people ofthe City of Chicago.
