MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Laura Siragusa, nee Quartana, on June 29, 2013; and
 
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39th Ward; and
 
WHEREAS, The beloved wife of the late Christy J. Siragusa; loving mother of Anthony (Joy) Siragusa; cherished grandmother of Lauren M.; step-grandmother of Matthew (Amy) Solmos and step-great-grandmother of Bryn A. Solmos; loving sister of the late Ciro, Philip and Sylvester Quartana; dear sister in law of Louise Avery, Annette Siragusa, Mamie DiMaggio, Stella Quartana; treasured aunt of many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, Laura leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and
 
WHEREAS, Born on April 1, 1922 to the late Anthony and Catherine Quartana, Laura had been a member of the Mayfair neighborhood for over fifty years and was the matriarch of Lowell Avenue; and
 
WHEREAS, Laura will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will.live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
 
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty-fourth day of July 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Laura Siragusa and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Laura Siragusa as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
