MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR JADWIGA "HEIDI" CYGAN

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that the members of this Chamber learned of the death of Jadwiga "Heidi" (Lapkovski) Cygan on November 10^th, 2018, at the age of 92; and

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39^th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Born on November 18^th, 1925, in Latvia, Jadwiga was the beloved wife of the late Tad Cygan and dear mother ofthe late Sigue: and

WHEREAS, Jadwiga maintained a strong relationship with God and lived a life of hard work caring for others; and

WHEREAS, Jadwiga had a caring, compassionate and warm spirit that was treasured by her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but the memory of her loving nature will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew her; now, therefore

BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled on this twelfth day of December, 2018, do hereby extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Jadwiga; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That suitable copies ofthis resolution are presented to the loved ones of Jadwiga "Heidi" Cygan as a sign of our honor, gratitude and respect.
