TRIBUTE TO THE LIFE OF DEACON THOMAS CURRY
WHEREAS, On April 24, 2012, Almighty God, in His Infinite Wisdom, has called Deacon Thomas Edward Curry to his eternal reward, a devoted Christian, husband and friend to all; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Curry, born February 21, 1948 to the late Albert, Sr. and Nelly Curry, received his education in the Chicago Public Schools. He graduated from Englewood High School then proudly served his country in the United States Army until 1968. After numerous years of employment at Sears Roebuck and Company, he retired in 2006; and
WHEREAS, Thomas and Annie Curry were joined in Holy Matrimony on August 15, 1997. Their union was blessed with one son, Thommie; and
WHEREAS, Thomas was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church until he found his spiritual home at The Christian Family Center where he served on the Deacon Board and was a member ofthe Men's Choir; and
WHEREAS, Thomas leaves to cherish his memories and celebrate his life, his beloved wife and son, eleven grandchildren, a stepson Earl D. Liggins, a stepdaughter Charlette R. Brown, a step grandson Davion S. Dotson, two goddaughters Monica Garner and Alicia Means, four brothers Albert Curry Jr., Donald Smith and Maurice Smith; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Toni Foulkes, Alderman ofthe 15th Ward, has informed this august body of the passing ofthis noteworthy and caring man; now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, gathered together this 17th day of January, 2013 AD, do hereby express our deepest condolences to the family of Deacon Thomas Edward Curry.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy ofthis resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Deacon Thomas Edward Curry.
