MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR EDDIE GREEN
WHEREAS, God in his infinite wisdom has called Elder Eddie Green, most beloved citizen, to his eternal reward on March 19, 2016 at the age of forty-nine; and
WHEREAS, This august body has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Raymond Lopez, Alderman ofthe 15th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Elder Eddie Green was born on September 18, 1966 to proud parents Eddie Green Sr. and Joyce Boylan in Harvey, IL. He was blessed to be the father of eight adoring children, and married the love of his life, Jana, thirteen years ago. Elder Eddie Green leaves a legacy of faith, leadership, and compassion; and
WHEREAS, Eddie was employed as a Fork Lift Operator until his retirement. In his spare time he enjoyed the tranquility of fishing; and
WHEREAS, Elder Green was a saved and faithful servant and dedicated member of the Greater Mt. Avery International Outreach Ministries for many years, where he was an Associate Pastor, Youth Leader, Outreach Leader, Community Leader, and Outside Event Coordinator; and
WHEREAS, Eddie is remembered as a kind and generous leader, donating his time on the weekends to feed thousands of homeless individuals throughout the area; and
WHEREAS, Eddie leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Jana, and children Jonathan, Ja'Niya, Eddie III, Kameron, Artist, Deola, Mary, and Eddie; and
WHEREAS, Eddie touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity, heart and spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his leadership, character, and faith will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this thirteenth day of April, 2016, do hereby extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Elder Eddie Green; and
BE JT, FURTHER RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution are presented to the farrtfty of §j$jej Eddie Green as a sign of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
