TRIBUTE TO THE LIFE OF DWAN PIERRE LONG
WHEREAS, God in His infinite wisdom and judgment has called to his eternal rest Dwan Pierre Long, beloved citizen and friend at the age of thirty-five; and
WHEREAS, Born December 17, 1977 in Chicago to his loving parents Linda Long-Becton and Gregory Cobbs, Dwan Pierre Long and his eight siblings shared many memorable times together. Dwan was a graduate of Deneen Elementary School and Hirsch High School; and
WHEREAS, Dwan and Shenna Hambrick were blessed with the birth of their son, Dwan Jr. who brought much happiness and joy into the family. Dwan was a dedicated employee at Lincoln Security as a security guard. He had just received his FOID card and was anticipating in furthering his career in security; and
WHEREAS, Dwan will be truly missed for his outgoing spirit and the kindness he had expressed towards others. He will be missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; and
WHEREAS, Dwan Pierre Long is leaving his family behind with wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. He is survived by his parents, Linda and Michael Sr.; father, Gregory (Cassandra); stepmother, Jacqueline; loving son, Dwan Jr.; grandparents, Ellis and Lillie-Mae; grandmothers, Ernestine and Carrie; three brothers, Jermaine, Michael Jr. (Alishea) and Julian (Tiera); four sisters, LaShawnda (T.J.), Brittney (Charley), NaKeisha (James) and Bonnie and a host of other relatives and many friends; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Michelle A. Harris, Alderman of the 8th Ward and Chairman of the Committee on Committees, Rules and Ethics, has informed this august body of the passing of Dwan Pierre Long; now therefore
