MEMORIAL RESOLUTION HONORING JAMES WILSON
WHEAREAS , Almighty God, in His Infinite wisdom and judgment has called to his eternal rest James Wilson, Jr. beloved citizen and friend, Tuesday, June, 14, 2011; and
WHEREAS, this august body has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Emma Mitts, Alderman of the 3 7thWard; and
WHEREAS, James Wilson, Jr. was born in Brownsville, Tennessee on April 5, 1933; and James Wilson, Jr. was educated in the Brownsville, Tennessee public school system, located in Haywood County.
WHEREAS, In 1967 James Wilson, Jr. was united in holy matrimony to Pauline Wilson (nee Phenix), who preceded him in death. Their union was blessed by children. He was the father of seven children, four girls and three sons; and
WHEREAS, James Wilson was a and faithful member of New Home Baptist Church under the leadership of New Home Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Mack McCullom; and
WHEREAS, James Wilson was a vital and active member of his family and community, highly active in local government & neighborhood activities in the 28™, 29th and 37™ Wards for many years, as a precinct captain. He loved politics and being the 'Bodyguard' for.his church. Further, he was a 'gentle giant' - a plain-speaking, yet sweet and humble man encased in a deceptively gruff exterior, whose loyalty, friendship and devotion to Alderman Emma Mitts and the 37th Ward will be deeply missed. He is survived by his loving family: sons James Freddie Wilson, III (Delores), Darryl, and daughter Paula, all of Chicago, IL. Daughters Rose Palmer (Larry), Patricia and son Ronald, of Mansfield, Ohio. Sisters, Ines Mitchell and Mabel Lee Brown of Oak Park, IL., and Mary Douglas of Chicago, IL. Also mourning his passing is, a favorite aunt, Claudine Pewitte of Denmark, TN., and 19 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews and many friends; now, therefore,
